Greetz all, still on a freesound frenzy! I'd like to upload some
drumloops from my machinedrum but freesound has some very specific
rules about PCM samples from digital synths, re:

# recorded patches you tweaked yourself from digital synths are ok
# preset patches or ROM waveforms from digital synths are not ok
# drum box hits from digital drum machines are not ok, see previous item!

and finally

# taking "free" samples from either free sample cd's, websites,
magazines, etc is not ok if you don't know exactly under what license
these samples are distributed. Just "free" isn't enough. For example,
those free samples on magazine CD's are not free: you can't (for
example) sell them: this is clearly not compatible with our license.

I've heard about companies like Roland going after creators of BUZZ
machines for using 909 samples, so I understand freesound's rules.

My question is if anyone from elektron or an experienced user can tell
me what license, if any, has been applied to the E12 and default UW
samples in the SPS-1. The plan for now is staying away from sample
machines until I've loaded safe sounds into the UV ROM banks.

However, it would be interesting if a company like elektron permited
the sampling of their wave forms ... it certainly wouldn't hurt
elektron at all, as the magic of the machine lies in the dynamic
manipulations you can pull off and the wonderful interface.

Thanks for any input!
