MnM synced to DAW

MnM synced to DAW

2005-07-29 by Andy Tarpinian

I think I remembered people talking about this on here before. For the first
time the other day did some tests trying out Logic controlling the MnM,
tempo and start/stop controls. When I press play in logic the mono starts as
it should and tempo is synced, but when I press stop in Logic the MnM stops
but some of the final notes played on the MnM hold over still making sound,
like an infinite sustain. When I press stop on the MnM of course all sounds
stop. I have the same problem in Live as well.

I think I remember people saying it only keeps playing notes on tracks that
are over a certain release or hold value...

I'm running the most current OS. I think I remember this being a problem for
people but wasn't sure if it was fixed or not.

If it is indeed broke what are some of the workarounds people are doing? My
main use for this is a fast way to record 4 bar parts into logic and or
live. I used to hit record in logic, wait for the metronome lead in and then
hit play on the MnM. I wanted this to be a one button solution. Maybe have
the MnM the master and hit play and stop on that?

I don't have this problem with Live and the MnM. Do you have
Machines with long DEC or REL parameters?

Re: [elektron] MnM synced to DAW

I often have SID arps running after the stop button, when you hit stop twice all activity
ceases, there are notes in the manuals, release notes about these issues. Otherwise
syncing with Logic will work seamlessly with both the MnM and UW and both with any
combination of midi clock, machine message setup, so if you have problems syncing with
Logic it's not the machine.....
