We've been writing a lot of trance/dance/house type tracks lately for our upcoming shows (to encourage more dancing!). I'm getting a bit tired of the old 4 on the floor with the "takatsss takatss takatss" of the open and closed hi hat pattern with the snare or clap on 2 and 4. Are there any other simple and effective dance beats out there? Everything I try, while cool to, seems to complex to be "great" in the minds of the masses...
