It is part of the sid charm, but can be rectified :-) The manual explains how to get rid of latency quite well. If you're going to use a sequence, that will be easy: check the system->sync menu, make sure that source is ExtCl, speed 100hz and cut 2, then add a negative delay of -20ms in the sequencer. Your sid will be synced. If you want to use it live, then you can try to set hcut to 0 and use the "gate" option in the envelope. The manual will clarify this better than me, look for sync and envelope. I wouldn't sample the sid, you'd loose its analogue unpredictable character
