And those are quite successfull... That's not a bad idea at all. But the MD is still a specialist instrument, maybe too specialist to ever become a huge commercial success. Sure, they would have sold lots more MDs with a more far- reaching marketing and distribution system, but with all the expensive components in the MD it will be difficult to push the price down to a level where they could compete with related products (maybe with a Machindrum Lite...). Big volume production reduces your expenses a lot, but possibly not enough to compensate for the increase in price that comes with all the extra people that want to make money on your product (distributors, sellers etc). Or am I wrong? Interestingly, Anders at Elektron told me that they do sell MDs through music stores in Greece and Italy. Apparently the reason for this is the language barrier in those countries. regards, Nils
