I would. ;-) The fact that you only use it as sound module means
you're missing out on all the internal sequencing capabilities,
including the lock programming in extended mode, and that is imho
half the fun of the MD. Sure, you can use MIDI control changes to
attain the same thing in Cubase, but even though I haven't tried it,
I can't imagine all that data transmitting as quick through the
(notoriously slow) MIDI port as internally in the MD (Please correct
me if someone has experienced the opposite). And the easy and
intuitive programming is lost as well. I normally use between 20 and
50 parameter locks pr pattern, sometimes up to 80. To program all of
this in Cubase must be a nightmare!? In addition, using the MIDI
macines in the MD (also part of the idiosynchratic internal
sequencing capabilities) with lock programming is really a blast. I
once set up my old Korg MS-20 to be controlled by the MD via a
MIDI2CV conv, and the MD let me control CV&gate, LP filter, HP
filter, Modulation and Volume in the MS - ALL SEPARATELY PR STEP with
LOCK PROGRAMMING. :-))

Yes, I am a control freak. And yes, Nine, you're being
blasphemous. ;-)

Regards,
Nils
