Brian The Machinedrum is a great machine. It doesn't do any kind of realistic tablas though...You could probably make some interesting tabla-approximations on it, but they would still sound like a synthesizer, rather than real tabla. I've actually studied tabla off and on for a few years, and after playing - even for a few months - you can really tell when someone is actually playing or using a sample. If you are looking for real tabla sounds, I'd recommend a sampler at least. Also, go to www.sonicstate.com and search for Talvin Singh's Abracatabla CD. It is a great sample CD of tabla and a lot of other percussion. -brent Once upon a time, brianefrank wrote the following: > Ok, i've been bitten by the MD bug so im pretty sure I'll be > aquiring one sooner or later here... until then i was just wondering > if the Machinedrum is able to do tablas at all?
