MD Timing Quality?

2002-04-18 by machinedrum99

I am considering purchasing a Machinedrum but before making a final
decision I would like to hear from all of you who presently own one:
HOW IS QUALITY OF THE MD'S TIMING?
I have a sampler, a synth, and I run them from my PC using Cubase.
The MIDI timing is so unbelievably shit on my setup that a sequenced
beat can be straight-ahead one minute, and the next time I hit the play
button it's shuffled (swinging) beyond recognition. I am well aware that
many products from big companies like Roland and Yamaha , including
hardware sequencers, come out of the box with such poor quality MIDI
timing as to make them unfit for making real music. To me, timing
should be perfect, and this is one reason I want to ditch my PC. I am
especially concerned about the MD because I have read that its internal
circuitry is running on MIDI. What I really want to know is: How is the
MD's timing as a standalone machine? And much more importantly, is it
a reliable master for me to slave my sampler and synth off of?
