Elektron Musical Instruments

I've finally gotten around to figuring out the sample function on my machinedrum UW.  It's pretty cool, but it seems my OS 1.30 won't allow me to save it to a RAM slot.  I don't have a USB to MIDI dongle whatever either, so how do I update my OS?  Is there a work-around in the meantime to let me save my samples.  There's no way to preserve the factory samples once you start saving your own?

I'll probably be using the slots for mangled loops but there are a few good hits in there.
