i use the FMR RNLA a lot.  it's cheap, sounds really rally great and can really add some 
punch.

also, more pricey but nice and punchy sounding.. warm, and capable of tube overdrive is 
the TLA audio 5021.. has a great front end.. everything i record thru it sounds better.
