Elektron Musical Instruments

I set up 2 instances of Ultrabeat (multichannel) one on 10, the other 11.  Set up simple kick 
pattern on 10, snare on 11.  Shocked that they played in time (cuz my Presonus interface 
sucks).  The problem is that the logic synth would only react if it's channel was highlighted - 
the synth set to midi 10 would play all that was on the mono's midi tracks 10 and 11 and the 
synth on track 11 wouldn't sound unless it was highlighted.  When I highlighted the synth on 
midi 11, it then played all the midi notes on all midi tracks and the kick synth went mute.  

I seem to remember having trouble controlling more than one midi thing from the mono 
from my previous experience.  What am I doing wrong?
