sure, but if you have parameter locks then the kit will always 
change. you would have to copy pattern first without the locks, 
paste it to an adjacent pattern, switch patterns AND reload kit to 
get your original sounds. its relatively easy to just turn those 
steps off but then you lose your locks.

yeah its great, i was playing with CTRALL last night doing exactly 
that. as long as you choose the parameter to tweak wisely, you can 
keep the groove or even totally morph it. subtle changes can sound 
really nice and then return to the orig kit. my only gripe is that 
its three button pushes to return it and when i got carried away an 
accidental press of the save kit button actually destroyed the 
original! guess im just clumsy..

it would be nice if there was a one button press to reload the 
current kit without having to enter edit kit page. what about 
switching to classic mode and back quickly or function+classic?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
