Well, you know the size of the memory (2Mb). Now decide your sampling rate and do your calculation! Hint: it's around 20 seconds with full 44.1kHz quality. And "Transfer samples into the internal UW flash with MIDI sample dump" means - no realtime recording. The SPS-1UW is not a sampler. It's a versatile drum machine! However, there are the RAM machines which do accept realtime recording. But it's for live use, so you can't store them anywhere, should be quite clear. What migght be confusing is that some people take the SPS-1UW as a sampler, where we want to market it as a very versatile beat box / drum machine! We don't want to make the SPS-1 a sampler, because we don't think we could do a good sampling interface in a short time within the UI of this machine. Better - use your computer to sample, where there are tons of good sample editing programs, transfer your favourite samples, and there you have your own special customised Machinedrum! And about releasing info: we've tried to tell as much as we can through the UW first look page, and the friend mail. Redesigning the Machinedrum web page is a big task, which is on its way. But I think most people would like us to rather release the unit as it is finished than wait for the website to be ready and redesigned with all the info anyone could ask for! If you have doubts, better wait a while until the first people receive their units and decide depending on their reports! Daniel Hansson, CEO Elektron Music Machines
