That was a pretty stupid message. I'm sure the guys do what they can to get the lowest price. They know they won't sell it if it's too expensive. That kind of things happen to a lot of music instrument companies, though I'm sure they all do what they can (when they're on such a little level as Elektron is, a real local company). If it's the way it can be, well, go buy all the other stuff that I'm sure sure you need much more than a Machine Drum. The MD will be just another drum machine in the field. Maybe much better than any available, but still a drum machine. As far as need is concerned, I guess a lot of us use their sampler as a drum machine. In that case, no one needs a drum machine, still, some of us will spend a little less than 1000 bucks on a 309, because it's just fun. And cool, and well, mostly, they had the money to buy it. And some of us will spend the same price on a Machine Drum if it's worth it. More if it's worth it, and mostly if they have the money. Elektron make the machine the way they want and can, not especially for you. Go get a Korg if you like them, I think they suck. Except for the 808, which is too old as it is expensive and I've got it all sampled well anyway, and rebirth is so good, there's no drum machine I like on the market. I hope Machine Drum will be the one because I'd LOOOOVE to have a drum machine although I don't really need one (but what does one need in life anyway ???), and for the moment, I have a little bucks I saved for the occasion. But well, the MD might be too expensive, or maybe it will just suck. Well, as you said it yourself and as it was said before : you don't need the Machine Drum, so let it be and wait and see. Don't get hooked to rumors. > > 1100??!
