Any info on the process would be more than appreciated. Gear used for the second track is 1 MnM, 1 MD, 1 Evolver (only playing the sustained sound in background) and 1 Kaoss pad II for dynamic reverb. On the first track I also used a laptop with ableton for the pads, a drum loop and the vocoder sequence at the end. I used only one pattern on both Elektron's and the tracks were made by muting, using the joystick and EFX's by mixer fades and aux sends to the Kaoss Pad II (still the most fun FX unit I know) I alway's use the internal sequencers since they really do the machine's justice with their parameter locks wich are the best feature of this gear. It's so easy to make very dynamic, moving patterns wich make the tracks very alive. The amazing thing about the second track is that the MD pattern contains only one machine: the EFM-BD. Every sound you hear is made from this single machine; the clap, the hihats, the snare and the strange basslike notes. This was my contribution to the Oktober MD contest! You can find the used pattern in the files section in the oktober machinedrum contest. It can take some time to come up with really interesting sounds, but if you dig deep enough I guess the possibilities are endless. Try to discover to power of every individual machine on the MD by making complete patterns of one machine. Nils is by my opinion the reall master when it comes to that. Ronald.
