I believe they are the same.  It would depend on whether you are happy to 
purchase a 2nd hand one and how it has been looked after (or not).  If there 
is a massive differential in price then it might be worth taking a chance on 
the 2nd hand one.  If it's not much different then I personally would buy 
new, at least you get the 1 years warranty then.
