why don't you configure yahoo so that you just receive every post in 
your mailbox?

I use a Mac and have a folder named "Elektron" within Mail, every post 
from this yahoo group goes there and is only text, no advertising.

That's why the yahoo group is going to stay, if you use it this way 
it's faster than the forum (the latter needs a big clean-up IMHO).
