PianoDisc and IIXG DKV

PianoDisc and IIXG DKV

2005-07-16 by Peter Phillips

Hi All
A Mark IIXG DKV will not play a PianoDisc diskette. I know this, as I have
a Mk IIXG DKV with a PianoDisk 228CFX control box as part of the
installation. PD uses a modified disk format that is not compatible with
anything else. However, a PD will play a Yamaha E-SEQ disk, and both
systems will play standard MIDI files on 1.44MB floppies.

To add to the confusion, a PianoDisc CD will play on a DKV CD system, but a
Yamaha CD will not play on PianoDisc system. I'm sure there's some logic
behind the thinking, but it eludes me.
