Filenames on Disklavier

2014-11-09 by gugs2001@...

Can anyone clarify why I always have problems with file names on my DKC-800 Disklavier e3. When I create song files on my PC or download free songs from the internet to play through a flash drive on it, I rarely get recognizable song names that I used on the PC. Some may look similar with added numbers or some may not display the names at all. They may display the artist name instead or just an "untitled" name description. They also seem to display in a different order. I must be missing something. (And the Yamaha manual is useless.) What can I do besides having to rename through the tedious DKC-800 renaming process? Any help will be most appreciated.

the midi-file itself contains tags for the artist, the instruments and something more. I suppose you have to modify the midi-file

To do that you need a PC or MAC and a MIDI FILE editor software...
