Conversion of piano rolls to MIDI files, which can be played on the
Disklavier, is being undertaken by several people in a loosely
organized cooperative effort.
I have a website with approximately 1000 piano rolls scanned so far,
and more being added as I obtain more rolls to scan.
There are many excellent performances by some of the top piano roll
artists of that era ( Charley Straight, Zez Confrey, Roy Bargy,
Jimmy Blythe, J. Russel Robinson, etc.) available for free download.

My site is at:

   http://www.trachtman.org/rollscans/

Due to U.S. copyright restrictions, only songs from 1922 and earlier
are available for public download from my site.

My piano roll MIDI site is similar to Terry Smythe's site at:
   http://members.shaw.ca/smythe/rebirth.htm
which also has a few thousand piano rolls converted to MIDI files.

I hope this is helpful.

Warren Trachtman
