Re: Hello EVERYONE!!!

Thank you all for the warm, hearty welcome =)

I found that I can get the delivery of the piano anytime after this
coming saturday. Unfortunately, I am out of town until the last week
of July, so they are storing it in the crate until I get back from my
business trip... I can't tell you how anxious I am.

I was curious. When purchasing the piano, I noticed that the pricing
was VERY different with every location I went to. I also noticed that
the profit margin for these dealers are immense. I live in the San
Francisco Bay area and went to 4 different dealers, with pricing
ranging from $55,000 for the DC3M4t to about $40,000 at initial
quote. I ended up finding a dealer, recommended by Yamaha Corporate
as well, for just over $30,000 after tax, making the piano around
$28k... It seems worst than shopping for cars. I mean a difference of
over $27,000 for the piano. Of course it is new, in crate, and
includes 2 tuneups, home install, and full warranty registered with
yamaha. (I arranged so that the crate will be opened upon my arrival
to make certain that it is not a demo piano or used)

Is that a good deal? or am I being ripped off? I can cancel before I
take delivery if I choose to. For those of you who purchased the
DC3M4t, can I ask how much it cost you? or what a good number is?

(i am new to this type of purchase and am a little uncertain as to
the valuation of such merchandise)
