Michael,

Go back to the screen that you changed upright to grand and press the RECORD button. This will add an S between GP and DB51. Turn off the control unit, then back on. The Silent system should be restored. Test it by plugging in headphones, turn the volume knob up on the Silent control box, then play some keys on the piano. Are you hearing a digital piano coming through the headphones. If so, Silent mode is working.

Speakers - make sure your volume control knob on the amplifier is turned to full on. (See the Amplifier diagram in Chapter 2 of the Basic Operations manual.) Also, make sure the volume is all the way up on the front of the control unit. (See Chapter 6 of the same manual and find ADJUSTING THE VOLUME.) Make sure this is raised to full volume.

Can you hear any type of hum through the speakers?

Next, put the piano in Silent mode without the headphones plugged in and adjust the Silent/Quiet volume full on with the volume knob on the Silent control box. See Chapter 7 on the Silent system. Now try playing some keys on the piano. Do you hear a digital piano coming from the speakers? If yes, then speakers are working. If no, then you may have a fuse out in the Amplifier box or something worse.

Let me know.

Bill

It now records. The silent system is still not working, I can't hear anything from the speakers nor the headphones. On that thought, the speakers don't appear to be working and I can't hear any kind of gum or anything from them. Is it conceivable that they are shot?

Thanks for your time,
Michael
