Re: [disklavier] MX100A

for testing things like this it is easier if you use my virtual midi keyboard. you can set the velocity and can play each note repeatedly one at a time without having to make a recording and try to figure out what note might be a problem. you need a PC with a MIDI adapter to send midi to the piano, of course. you can find the program on the download page of my web site.

A couple of things:

- are you replacing the 7 amp fuse with a Slo-Blow type fuse?

- You may have a bad solenoid. Make a recording playing each key 20 times very loudly, and play every key. Then play it back and see if a particular key blows the fuse. If so, then the problem will be either the solenoid or the driver board it is attached to.

I spoke too soon, It has the US & Canada Power Supply too. But the piano is playing at the moment. I wonder if there’s some pedal action or code in MIDI files I’ve downloaded that draw extra current from the piano?

that’s perfect! Thanks Jeff

(and yes, the power supply looks identical, though the MX100B manual is for the West German electricity)

Sorry about that. I am also sending the MX100B Service Manual. Power supplies should've the same, it seems that the B Information goes into more depth.

Thanks Bill, but the attached file is the Owner’s Manual and Midi Handbook. I need the service manual to find out what voltages should be within the power supply of the MX100A.

Hi,

My power supply has been blowing its 7A fuse with increasing regularity.

Does anyone have a service manual or schematic for this early disklavier?

Any suggestions on what might cause the current draw to go up?

Here's a picture of my power supply
