Update on replacement Polaris membrane panels

Update on replacement Polaris membrane panels

2011-10-19 by Paul D. DeRocco

Of the various quotes I received, one was reasonable and the others were out
to lunch, so I've accepted the reasonable one. I'm going out there tomorrow
to work out some details, and I'll try to get them ordered this week. So
hopefully, they'll be available some time around the end of November or
early December. I haven't figured out how much it will cost to package them,
but I expect I'll be able to sell the pair for less than my original
estimate of $200.

Since I don't need money up front, and since I'll be ordering plenty to
cover everyone who's expressed an interest on this mailing list, there's no
need to pre-order. When they're ready, I'll either put them on eBay or
provide some other way to order them.

Here's the 7-pin one:

They're from TE Connectivity, www.te.com, part numbers

5-520314-5 5-pin
6-520314-0 10-pin

For some reason, DigiKey and Mouser both have only the 7-pin ones in stock
(part number 5-520314-7), but you may be able to find the 10-pin ones
somewhere else on the web. And of course, you can use a 7-pin connector for
the 5-pin tail, by chopping off two pins.
