How many Polarises were ever built....i saw one reference that said
3000 over a 2 year period..... is this true?

Looking at the instrument registry on the Rhodes Chroma site, it appears that there were approximately 100 model 2121s produced, and as many as 2700 2123s and an additional 580 or so 2123Bs.
