help! I just bought a chroma polaris and it seems dead.

help! I just bought a chroma polaris and it seems dead.

2005-10-05 by jenna_pher

I turned it on out of the box and almost all of the lights light and
nothing seems to respond. Actually there are only 11 lights off. the
volume light, fixed, glide, bend range, upper function, a,b,d,2,4,11.
There seems to be no output but hiss. Can anyone help?

When you power it off (and then back on again), do you get the exact same
panel indications (same lights on, same lights off) or does it seem somewhat
random?

If the behaviour is a little different sometimes, then it could be the
'reset level' adjustment ("DC OK Threshhold") on the power supply.
Specifically, it could be a little low, causing the CPU to wake up before it
should. If this is the source of the problem, then it is something easy to
address (and is covered in the Service Manual, ref: Section 6 - Adjustments
and Checkout) [The service manual is available in PDF form at
