Hi We have 3 polaris's in various condition
We got our last one from New York
in mint condition never used! and we paid
£450.00 on ebay.
but a rough one is worth about £200 - £350 GB
So it depends on what condition its in.

Considering some of the severe delicacies inside (the PCB cable in
particular), I personally would consider even a mint unopened Polaris
to still be high maintenace and, well, a bit sketchy. I love it
though, so that's not a problem on my part, but I think that IS part
of the reason that it dosn't go for the high price that it likely
should based on it's sound and capabilities.

peter, i don't know if its a rough one or not,
i think its an early one with nr, let me see.:
1001102, it works like an russian coal miner,
but nevertheless thanks for the infos, i'm in a doubt now to sell it,
the sound in combination with a good lexicon or sony hall reverb,
and a seq is far from what i hear at nowadays clones..

>>what do you mean with the pcb cable inside?

Hey, by no means do I speak poorly of the CP, I love mine to death :)
But the cable that runs between the two main button/slider boards
directly attached to the inside of the top is excessively delicate.
Mine is actually cracked, likely just from old age, and it has indeed
left some residual side effects (at least that is all I have been able
to find to blame for my slider problems, because I can't recalibrate
them no matter how many times I try). It can be strengthened however,
someone on this list said they used a hot glue gun to basically coat
the entire cable. It really is 'whispy' to say the least, kind of
feels like the consistency of a cracker jack boxes wax coating...not
good.

Beyond that, the majority of it's interface is bubble buttons, which
are known to go bad...I've heard a few people say they successfully
repaired individual broken ones, but most people have said that the
only fix was to replace the entire pcb board for that side of buttons.

That's all I meant by saying it 'can' be a high maintenance synth, but
I still eagerly busted out $300us for mine, and it has had issues from
the start, but due to it's beauty of a sound, and full
multi-timbrality, I don't regret it one bit ;)
