One voice too quiet

One voice too quiet

2017-05-31 by dmxkrew@...

Got my Polaris almost perfect now.

However, one of the 6 voices is slightly quieter than the others.

I have done the volume calibration correctly so that each voice responds to envelopes identically in terms of attack/release times.... but one voice is just a bit quiet.

Is there a trimmer for this somewhere?

or.....?

I have recapped quite a lot of the synth at this point!

No trim for this. If you don't have a scope, you could poke around with an audio probe (an audio input that has a fairly high impedance) and see where in the chain it appears. You could use a voltmeter to check the VCA control signal with a scratch patch selected. And you could try swapping ICs with another channel to see if the problem moves. But ultimately, you'll have to fix whatever is broken.

Nope. Could be a lot of different things. There's no way to avoid diagnosing it logically by measuring the control signals, listening to the audio signals, and swapping ICs between the channels.
