However, different software versions locate things in different places in the RAM, so upgrading requires that you redo all the calibrations and reload your data. If the panel switches work but you're getting no sound, that is likely the problem. If the switches don't respond, then you could perhaps have mislabeled the EPROMs and inserted them in the wrong order. If it worked before the change, then it should work after the change.

I think he's referring to jumper settings. But if you erase and reprogram the old EPROMs, that won't be an issue.

In a very old instrument, dirty contacts can always be a problem. Glad you found it.

It doesn't matter whether you use two 16K EPROMs or four 8K EPROMs, as long as the jumpers are set correctly. If you already have four 8K EPROMs, you can continue to use them for a newer version, and leave the jumpers the way they are now.
