polaris single voice problem

polaris single voice problem

2013-04-05 by steven

i had just opened up my polaris to clean the key contacts----a few were not consistantly responding to touch sensitivity--but were all playing------ive done it before--nothing odd happened-- but upon reassembly
one voice doesnt play.
if i play each note starting from the bottom the 6th note doesnt sound and every sixth from that point-- if i start elsewhere, the non playing note moves--- if i play 5 notes in a row and hold them---NO 6th note will sound anywhere.
i did a 'tune all' and the light flashed 6 times. so my guess is something isnt allocating to that 6th voice.
anyone have any ideas? i did unplug the ribbon wire ay I14--
but i really didnt do much else other than open the key contacts which i have done on many other keyboards before.

anyone know what may have happened?

i solved the problem--it seems to be a voice volume issue--- moving the assignable volume brought the voice back --- still seems odd, but at least its not a lost voice....

You might need to do the volume calibration over again. It sounds like the
threshold might have shifted in that channel, or more likely, the
calibration for that channel got corrupted somehow.
