Indeed, the ribbon connectors were cracked. I've since had repairs done, and they've apparently re-soldered them to temporarily fix the problem. But I was warned that with time these ribbons will likely crack again and eventually the front panel will cease to function, among other things. Thanks for responding and I'll definitely be in touch. Knowing where to find parts is imperative. I hope can help likewise, so let me know if you need anything regarding the Polaris.

It sounds like you possibly disturbed the fragile ribbon connectors by opening the lid and repairing the jacks. These ribbon connectors were an inherent design flaw of a great machine and were subject to cracking and breaking over time. Don't feel bad, not your fault. And don't let this turn you away from the Polaris becasue sonically it's an amazing instrument, and other than the ribbon connector problem, it's a very rugged and reliable machine.
