By looking at the LEDs. Make sure LED 1 is on and LEDs 2-6 are off; press
the corresponding switch to toggle each LED on or off.

There is no channel number in a Sysex message that MIDI-OX would know
about, since that's a Polaris-specific detail, not part of the MIDI
standard. The Sysex messages encoded into the files containing the factory
program sets would refer to channel 1. So you just need to send the Sysex
files as-is from MIDI-OX, and make sure the Polaris is configured to
receive on channel 1.

Yes, you'll need to do that. As I recall, it's simple.

I believe the Basic Channel number is the only thing in the Polaris you
have to set properly in order for Sysex receiving to work. If it still
doesn't work after you've made sure the Basic Channel is set to 1, there
may be a hardware problem.
