Re: [chromapolaris] New to the Board

2013-10-10 by klosmon

Hello-
It's possible to work out some of this yourself; it requires some
patience, some attention and much reading.
The service manual tells you a lot about the instrument; your main goal
should be to track down existing problems without causing any new ones.

To do this, you have to understand some things about this particular
instrument; for example, many of the operating system parameters are
memory-based -- if it loses memory, it's not just the patch information,
but the envelope & VCA offsets, MIDI settings, etc. Restoring this is
more than just doing a patch reload; there are twenty or thirty
key-presses and slider adjustments, which are detailed in the manual.

And, of course, this all depends on the membrane buttons being fully
functional; if they're not, you have to address that issue before doing
anything else.
