Serge Resonant Eq - problem with sinus

Serge Resonant Eq - problem with sinus

2015-04-24 by bjrnsynneby

I just finished my Serge Res Eq build and all bands seems to be working except the 61Hz. The major problem I have is a high pitched and steady sinus sound coming out of the module even without any input. The signal appears out of both upper and lower comb and the out jack and is completely independent of adjusting the pots on the panel.

Does it matter from which pot I feed the chained cw and ccw ends to the pcb? In Ken Stones build documentation these pots are 777Hz and 411Hz. I connected to 29Hz and 61Hz when the sinus appeared. Can this really be the cause?

No, it doesn't matter which pot you take the CCW and CW chains from. I'd look for an incorrect part value, or soldering problem in the area of the affected frequency.

Thank you.

My mounting bracket was shorting the caps nearby U1. I realized this just by putting my thumb over the area and the sinus stopped. Now the module sounds very very satisfying.
Next step is to bring out some individual outs for some of the bands.
