Saw to sine on VCO

Saw to sine on VCO

2009-05-28 by Jon

Hi,

I've added an inverting function to the CV in of the waveshaper. The idea was to be able to set it to saw and sweep to sine and the other way around. But since there's a diode on the CV input that rectifies(?) the incoming CV, it's not working.

I'm not sure that I could remove the diode. Since it also limits the voltage from the pot of going out of the CV in jack?
I think the other option would be to add the incoming CV and the pot voltage together with a mixer. The only problem would be that I might have negative CV going into the LM3900 - and I'm not sure that's a good thing? (Since the LM3900 is operating on only +15V to 0V). But if it won't damage the circuit I'll go with that option.

Any ideas, suggestions or just random thoughts?

Thanks!
//Jon
