Hello and some Questions

Hello and some Questions

2007-04-22 by lamontanara

hi there
I'm new to this Group.

I got a bunch of CGS PCBs a little time ago, and have some Questions.

I really don't understand electronics, but have allready built some
DIY PCB-based Modules with succes.
as long as they are working it's good ;)

Questions:

1. CGS29, Wave Multiplier
the question is about which wiring options one needs
( i allready asked at EM ( i'm Funky40) and got answers from fonik and
scott stites.
But after looking again to the CGS site, i'm confused again about the
wiring options.)
I tend to bring them all up to the Faceplate.( but this is very much )

So i put the question otherways:
A) what does i really not need ?

2.) CGS 31, digital noise
i'm not shure if i understand the wiring

A)CLK0 is the out of the 4046 that has to be normalized to the CLKI (
with a 1k res ), right ?
B) there are no Pots somewhere ?

3.) CGS 64, VCA
A) Can i solder normal caps to the SMD pads ?
I would like to build one Modul now as it will take some time till
i'll make my order where i get the SMD caps.
B ) there are different manufacturers for those caps.
should i care which one i choose ?

thanks in advance

Right. There is no pot here. The 1k is for circuit protection.

Yes.

No. These are decoupling capacitors. You only need the poorest grade of
dialectric here, so just about anything will do (i.e. if it fits, use it).
