It is. To make it longer, try adding a 100n or even greater cap across the 47k resistor that is between the base and emitter of the NPN. Increasing the 47k to 100k would also help, once the cap has been added.

I don't have any envelope generators that take a trigger input so its very difficult to shape a useable envelope.
