The old version used 8 100n. I believe the new one has space for an extra -
it's just power rail decoupling. As for different sizes, I allow as much
space for 100n caps as the board will permit. Sometimes there isn't space,
so I just put in two holes at .2". If there is more space, I will alow for
.3" and .4". Conversely if I have to run a lot of tracks between the pins, I
will leave out the 0.2" spacing, and that is what I think you are referring
to here. Just stick in a 100n that will fit. Bend leads if you need.
