No midi port in USB mode

No midi port in USB mode

2006-04-17 by chisel316

I just got the BCF2000 this weekend. I have it configured and working
beautifully in MIDI mode. I tried using USB mode, but although
Windows XP sees the device, it doesn't show up as a MIDI port in USB
mode. I'd like to get this working if at all possible.

Thanks,
Dan

I installed the driver. It shows up in Windows Device Manager as
the name of the driver with the version number at the end. The
problem is, I don't see a MIDI device associated with the driver in
ANY programs. For example, when I launch BCFView.exe and right-
click on the window, I don't see it in the list of available MIDI
devices. When I got into my DAW, it isn't listed as an available
MIDI device either. It's as if the driver is installed properly,
but it is not associated with a MIDI device.

Well, I decided to uninstall the v1.1.1.1 driver and let Windows
auto-detect the BCF. It came up as a generic "USB Audio Device" and
now I can see it in my MIDI programs! But, BCFView still doesn't
work and the device disappears from my MIDI programs when I update
the driver to v1.1.1.1! Strange..

The reason why I couldn't see the MIDI device when I updated the
driver was that I already reached the 10 MIDI device limit. After
deleting one of the duplicate devices in the registry, everything
works fine. :)
