Re: BCR2000 and the NoOS message - Help please

2008-03-28 by felix19552003

Hi Jim,

I had a similar problem.

NooS means no operating system. I contacted Behringer and over some time - my fault entirely - I've just got it all sorted out. it involved having to go into bootlegger mode and reinstallling to software. Our exchange of email is below. I hope it helps.

David

1:- Hello David,

Thanks for writing to us.

"NoOS" stands for "No operating system". Attached please find the "BCF2000 upgrade manual". Please take a look on page 2 (bottom) & page 3. You'll find all required information on how to reload a firmware version on the BCF2000.

You can use a freeware program like "MIDI OX" www.midiox.com to transfer the Syx file.

2:- Dear David,

Thanks very much for writing to us.

Please download the latest firmware version from our webpage - 1.10.
This is a SYX (MIDI Sysex) file. Use MIDIOX (www.midiox.com) to send the SYX file to the BCF2000 (which is switched into bootloader mode).

The upgrade is only possible via MIDI connections. Please make sure that the BCF2000 is connected in both directions (MIDI Out to MIDI In & vice versa).
