Try connecting to the old USB port and, assuming XP, right click My Computer , select Properties, select Hardware tab, select Device manager, select Sound, Video and Game Controllers. There should be an entry "B-Control Midi (10/19/2005,1.2.1.3)" (This is the version that you should have. You could disconnect the BCR and connect to the front USB and see if it is the same driver - you shouldn't have to reboot) Right click this bad entry and select Uninstall. After finishing the uninstall reboot your computer with the BCR off. Turn it on and the driver should reinstall.
