Normally you program them so they skip values when turned quickly, but you can just as easily have it so they hardly increment when turned quickly.
So the first question is - does it happen on all presets?
In the preset look for the BCL command resolution
The default is resolution 96 96 96 96 but resolution 96 50 20 1 will give you the symptoms you describe.
