hey. ive been looking into that quiet often . 1. replacement is not straight forward as the pots are soldered into the ledrings housing and hard to reach. desoldering those encoders needs to be done with a lot of care as not to damage the circuit board itself. best bet is to clip them of from the top (inside the ledrings housing) , then carefully use solder braid from the bottom side and finally a suction pump to get the remainig bits out of the holes. clean with aceton or isoprop. 2. the encoders itself are alps. http://www.alps.com/prod/info/E/HTML/Encoder/Incremental/EC12E/EC12E_list.html but have special specs that are not available on website. find some 12mm ( 12mm x 15 mm) encoders without bushing, 24 to 30 positions, without detend , total length shaft and house 30mm , d-type flatted shaft. and you are good to go. theres some with bushing here ( they might fit even with bushing ) : http://www.bitechnologies.com/pdfs/en12.pdf code: EN12 - VS 2 0 A F 30 if you still have warranty on yours - send it back. this will be way more easier! check this to get some views from inside : http://www.knutsel.org/2010/09/14/behringer-bcr2000-2/ good luck. j.
