Virtualbox.org is a free alternate to Parallels. I can't guarantee that it will work, as I use Virtualbox for my Solaris, OpenSolaris & OpenBSD installs rather than Windows, but their Mac version of Virtualbox has come along way. And I do have a Windows XP install that I haven't run into any issues with. And they would only have to pay for Windows, and not the extra $200 for Parallels...
