Bc2000 (for the BCF2000 & BCR2000)

I have been using BCF with Reaper, got it set for 16 tracks of 
vol/pan/mute/solo + start/stop/forwrd/rev.Now I am trying to get some 
more functionality (aint we all) and have downloaded the trial ver. of 
MIdevice, just to see if it actually "does what it says on the tin" ie. 
the control of VST parameters. I (perhaps stupidly) thought that all I 
have to do is set it up (choose which VST to control) and then twiddle 
knobs on the VST GUI + midi learn on the BCF. There is no support for 
the trial ver. and so no helpfile to get me started. Anybody know how 
to get this working?
