Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

So I have a problem with my S1100. It doesnt start up once powered up. There is no light in the screen, no lights above any of the buttons, no nothing. Other than this, the sampler seems to be in nice shape. :-)

The only light that comes on once powered is a small red light on what turns out to be the switching regulator board inside the box (Checked the service manual). This light can be also seen (barely) through the air-sprinkles with the lid on. 
So my questions are: 
1) Does anyone know what this mean? Is the switch.reg.board trying to signal something, like a broken power supply?
2) Could anyone with a healthy S1100/S1000 check if it also has a small red light visible through the airsprinkles?

Hi,
You should measure the power supply voltages; check against service manual.
If there is not lights at all its probably the power supply.
