I just got a S1100 from a friend, but it has no disk with it. How can I go about
getting the system disk in order to use it? It doesn't come with the info already
on the drive?

Thanks, Ray

S1100

2004-10-22 by markoritola

Hello!
I just purchased seconhand S1100. I´m user of synths mostly and
beginner for hardware samplers. From getting to start I have couple of
questions.
My S1100 has "dead" floppydisk drive. I have external Iomega 100MB
SCSI zip-drive. Then I also have Iomega 250MB USB zip-drive connected
to my computer (win XP). There´s no SCSI adapter in my computer.
Is it possible to trasfer Wav, AKAI format or any audio files from PC
to Akai through ZIP-disk. Or is there any other convenient way to put
the "samples" to Akai? MIDI? Analog way? Or is it reasonable to
purchase SCSI CD drive or SCSI adapter. Any recommendations? ;-)

Regards Marko

Greetings all.

For this project or any other S1100 project I have
an S1100 I’m willing to part out. Only 2Mb on the Mobo
and the display needs a new back-light.
Not sure about the FDD drive at this stage.
It does not have the scsi board, someone already took that.
It does fire up and the menus change as expected.
This unit is in Japan so its probably not going to be cost effective
to ship whole, but I will if someone wants to start a restore project,

I also have a couple of working S3000xl and a CD3000 that has had the
CD drive replaced with an MO drive, but the MO doesn’t seem to be working.
I think this might have a scsi problem because the CD Drive behaved intermittently
as does the MO drive.

If anyone is interested in any of these please contact me directly.

Best regards Tee.
