Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

Hi!

Is it really the signal to noise ratio that disturbs you?
Then maybe you could change some of the components in the output path (opamps,...)
But I have no schematics of the sampler to help you here...

If the audio signal during playback has some noise on it you maybe have to adjust VR5 (DAC MSB).
[This is at least the VR number of the S1000 HD - but I think it will be the same for the S1100]
It this trimmer is not adjusted correctly you get some distortions/noise on the outputs signal.
The adjustment of this trimmer (and the offset levels of all output stages) is part of the 
service routines built into the sampler operating system.

You should have an oscilloscope for the adjustment procedure to check the distortions on the output signal during testing.
Testing is done via an loaded 30Hz sine test signal.

i don't have a problem with hum
what i'm looking for is a component change to decrease the noise generated by the AKAI itself. eg with lower noise converters or lower noise IC's
