Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

I had a similar problem years ago with my old S2000. It turned out to be the
cable.

You've checked the SCSI IDs haven't you? Is your Zip drive 'terminated'? I
seem to remember there was a termination on/off switch on the back of mine.

When you say "connected mi iomega zip drives,nothing,it wont see them ", do
you mean you connected them both at the same time?

If so, try the zip drives one at a time and see if they work. If you connect
both, make sure that only the one on the end of the SCSI chain is
terminated.

Two drives can be a problem, incidentally: I have an S2800i connected to a
hard drive and a CD-ROM player. It will happily read from both, but if I am
to write to the HD, I must switch off the CD player first or it won't save.

hello everybody,well mi s3000xls turned up
Yes thats right,two of them!
loaded up the memory,still works,connected mi iomega zip 
drives,nothing,it wont see them....bugger,works fine on the s1000
I connected it from the scsi port on the back,with a 25 pin male to 25 
pin male cable to zip drive,could it be the cable do you think?
The other one from s1000 connected via a cetronics setup,off the scsi 
card....any thoughts welcome.....
One tip from me,one of the s3000xls had the display badly scratched,so 
I lightly sanded the plastic display with fine sand paper,to get the 
scrathes out,then polished with brasso,and finally burning cream,no 
scratches...looks like new!!
