The Ethermusic fest has exceeded my expectations in every way. Philip brought in Gabriella and set it up. Philip played it a bit and many of us lined up to play the instrument. Philip is a true craftsman -- the instrument is beautifully constructed. The tone is smooth -- very human. After Philip played it, Lydia stepped forward and played it for a few moments. I played it after Lydia and played thru the Bach/Gounod Ave Maria. The linearity is excellent and felt very at ease with the instrument. Philip and I spoke about the internals of Gabriella. I asked about internal voltages, and Philip said "the plate voltage is 160 volts" and then showed me some scars on his hands from a couple of accidental encounters. Well, today is going to be a busy one so I just have to hit <send>. I could write pages about everything that I've seen and heard at the festival. Best wishes to one and all! -- Kevin Quoting kmg5443 <kmg5443@...>: > > I finally met my friend Kevin Kissinger, who has given me LOTS of > encouragement during my construction of Gabby and my playing style. > > Thomas Grillo was there today and I made a new friend. > > Also got acquainted with Randy George, Richardo Islas, and Carolina > Eyck.
